Guidelines for the Effective Design, Implementation, and Evaluation of Corrective Action Plans for Persistently Dangerous Schools under the Unsafe School Choice Option (USCO) Policy- Local educational agencies (LEAs) that receive No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Funds and meet the criteria for persistently dangerous schools (PDS) for three consecutive years are designated as persistently dangerous schools (PDS) and are required to develop, implement, and evaluate corrective action plans (CAPs) submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE). This document is intended to guide LEAs receiving NCLB funding that have been designated as persistently dangerous schools.
Guidelines for the Effective Design, Implementation, and Evaluation of School Safety Plans for Early Warning Schools under the Unsafe School Choice Option (USCO) Policy- Local educational agencies (LEAs) that receive No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Funds and meet the criteria for persistently dangerous schools (PDS) for two consecutive years are designated as early warning schools (EWS) and are required to develop, implement, and evaluate school safety plans (SSPs) submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE). This document is intended to guide LEAs receiving NCLB funding that have been designated as early warning schools, and also provides guidance for schools that meet the persistently dangerous school criteria for two consecutive years but that do no receive NCLB funding.
USCO Program and Resource Guide-The purpose of this USCO (Unsafe School Choice Option) Program and Resource Guide is to provide schools, identified as persistently dangerous or early warning under the USCO Policy, with programs and resources to address their identified needs.
A Guide for Designated USCO Schools to Access Resources under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Title Initiatives- The purpose of this guide is to provide Unsafe School Choice Option (USCO) designated schools (i.e., persistently dangerous, early warning, and special services schools) with guidance on how to access resources, such as programs, activities, personnel, and funds that would support the school’s Corrective Action Plan (CAP) or School Safety Plan (SSP).
